Farmers market vendor

If you enjoy people, food, and farmer’s markets, this may be the job for you!

We’re looking for a farmers market vendor who will be responsible for selling mushrooms and our mushroom foods at a Saturday, and/or Sunday Farmers Market in the Twin Cities.  Others will do prep to get things ready for the market, but vendor will also be solely responsible for setting up and breaking down booth, and transporting booth supplies to and from the market.

The work: Vendor will pick up booth supplies in south Minneapolis, transport it to the Mill City and/or Kingfield Farmers Market, unpack and set up our booth, actively sell mushrooms and butters/spreads during the market, break down and repack materials, and return them to storage.  Work during the market includes sampling mushroom foods, answering questions about the farm, accepting payment, and recording inventory and sales.

Hours: Markets are from 8am through 1pm for Mill City, and 8:30am through 1pm for Kingfield, with at least an hour required on either end to transport materials to and from the market and to set up and break down the booth.

Duration: Currently we’re looking for someone for every other Saturday through October 28, 2017, and all Sundays through mid-August and every other Sunday through Sunday, October 29th.    See our Events calendar for the confirmed dates of the market, though some may be added later.

Compensation: $10 to $12 per hour depending on ability and experience.  You will also get mushrooms or other CTHM products from time to time.

Work Location: Both markets are in Minneapolis.  The Mill City Farmers Market is located next to the Guthrie Theater and Mill City Museum – at 704 S 2nd St., while the Kingfield Farmers Market is located at 4310 Nicollet Avenue South.  You can find more details about the Mill City market here, and the Kingfield market here.

Selection Criteria: Candidates should have some experience and/or talent in retail sales such as at a restaurant, coffee shop, or store.  Dependability and enthusiasm for food and farmers market a plus.  You will also need a driver’s license. We have a market van available so you need to be able to get yourself to the van location.  We expect vendor to make at least one trip to the farm to get a training/tour of our production and methods.

Application deadline: We will hire as soon as we find the right person.

Application Details: Please email Jeremy at with a description of why you’re interested in the position.  I’d also like to see a resume and at least one professional and one personal reference.

Thanks for your interest in our farmers market vendor position!
